Ammolofoi Beach | Η Παραλία των Αμμολόφων

The Ammolofoi Beach, General View
The beach of Ammolofoi is located 1km away from Nea Peramos and is about 3km long. The perfect thin sand forms sand dunes in many spots and dominates on the landscape, which, in combination with the clear green-blue sea, becomes the main attraction for thousands of tourists during the summer months.
On the beach there are many beach bars that offer whatever a tourist needs, along with sea sports, like beach volley and beach tennis; music also never stops playing and parties held continuously, one after another. For those who prefer peace and quiet, there is no disappointment, since there are many unspoiled spots on the beach. When the atmosphere is clean, you feel the island of Thassos embracing you, while Mount Athos commands on the west.

The endless beach is divided into three smaller beaches by small rocks and, from the east towards the west, they are known as the First Ammolofoi, the Second Ammolofoi and the Third Ammolofoi.Access to the beach is very easy, while parking is free anywhere near the beach.
Tips
Discover the peninsula of Vrasidas with the small beaches and the beautiful bays, where legend has it, that the Spartan general with the same name, being surrounded by the Athenian fleet during the Peloponnesian war, lifted along with his men the ship during the night and got it to the open sea through a narrow strip of land.
Visit the Castle of Nea Peramos (Anaktoroupolis), and look at the hill on which the ancient city of Oisimi was located, mentioned in the Homeric Epics at the First Ammolofoi.
